Returns & Exchanges
Returns or exchanges of furniture are limited to transit damage or manufacturer defect. In the event of damage to your furniture that occurs in transit, or if you discover any defect in the furniture manufacture, please contact our Customer Service office within 7 days (888) 859.5522. Upon return, your merchandise will be inspected. In certain circumstances, a usage or restocking fee may apply. Cancellations or changes on orders will incur a 20% restocking fee. Credit card orders will receive a credit; orders paid by check or cash will receive a refund check.

Maine Cottage happily accepts returns and exchanges of non-furniture items purchased online or at our two company stores in Yarmouth, Maine and Charleston, South Carolina. If you are not satisfied, we will gladly provide a merchandise refund for your order within 30 days of receipt. After 30 days, Maine Cottage will replace or refund your non-furniture items against manufacturer defects for up to one year. Shipping costs are non-refundable.

For the fastest service, call Customer Service (888) 859.5522 Monday - Friday 8:30am-5pm EST to request a ‘Fast Exchange’. We will charge you for the new item, but we'll ship it the same or next day. Once we receive your return, we'll credit you for the cost of the original item. Typical turnaround time, with shipping, is about one week. However, you can cut that down by using expedited shipping (two-day service or similar); we will ship the package back to you in the same manner.

We enclose a return form in every mail order package. If you are mailing an item to us, please take a minute to fill out this form to tell us if you want an exchange, credit or refund. If you do not have the return form, include a note with your name, return address, daytime phone number and/or email address, what you are sending in and why, and what you would like to have happen. Please be sure to ship the package with a carrier that can provide tracking and insurance and know that you are responsible for all shipping costs for returned merchandise.

Maine Cottage collects and remits sales tax in the states which we have a retail presence: Maine and South Carolina.
